TNG Season 1, Episode 19 (Netflix: S1 E20): Coming of Age
This episode has a lot of Wesley, which obviously is a big minus, but I found the academy entry storyline interesting, and the episode has several good character moments. It should also be viewed for its connection to a later (awesome) episode.
Wesley has a friend? Right away this episode seems a little far fetched.
Admiral Quinn and Remmick!
Benzites play the space harmonica.
“It’s a good thing you’re cute Wesley, or you could really be obnoxious” heh
“Thinking about what you can’t control only wastes energy, and creates its own enemy” -Worf This may be the first time someone goes to Worf for wisdom
Something happens with a kid and a shuttle
Wesley has a run in with a species that despises courtesy and respects bluntness, kind of like a Tellerite! It should’ve been a Tellerite
Something is trying to take over the Federation? Possibly from within? That sounds like a Conspiracy!
It’s obvious to the viewer that this is the test Wesley was waiting for
They make it seem really hard to make it into the academy. Wesley was supposed to be some kind of prodigy right? And even Picard failed?
