[TNG] Firstborn

[TNG] Season 7, Episode 21: Firstborn

Rating: 2

This one is borderline 3, which is saying something for an Alexander episode. Worf continues to be a bad dad, but unlike most Alexander episodes, there is some actual political intrigue and mystery to keep things moving and give the proceedings some structure. Throw in a couple nice moments of character work between Picard and Worf, with Riker in command most of the episode, and it gives Firstborn a little extra flavor. Plus it’s fun how this fits into some recent Deep Space Nine continuity without it being necessary to enjoy the episode. And James Sloyan is the guest star!

Worf’s quest to get Alexander onboard with being a True Klingon somehow becomes Enterprise’s top priority, and the whole ship goes to some kind of Klingon ren faire.
They meet a guy who is proud of his ring.
They call up DS9, and for some reason Quark answers.
Worf’s new friend wants to help Alexander become a warrior. Good luck man.
Lursa and B’Tor are suspected of trying to kill Worf, but they’re actually innocent for once.
Worf catches his new friend trying to kill Alexander!!
It turns out its because he IS Alexander, from the future. They were running out of relatives to dish out this season, so they’re doubling up.
So Alexander doesn’t have to do the training session for the day.
