[TNG] Season 5, Episode 12: Violations

This one is executed well enough, but the subject matter is unpleasant in a way that doesn’t feel particularly justified. Additionally, its one of those plots where the Mysterious Thing just sorta happens to one crew member after another, which can be pretty dull when the cause of that thing is known from the beginning.

Enterprise gives a lyft to a group of “telepathic historians” but they mostly just help Keiko remember about her old cup. Cool party trick I guess

This guy’s name is Jev. His dad picks on him.

Jev mentally violates Troi. Why does this happen so much in this show?

Troi goes into a coma after the attack

Riker is the next one attacked.

In his vision/memory, he has a little head

Crusher is next. She doesn’t like when people stand this close to her

Then Troi wakes up! but she doesn’t remember what happened

The aliens feel like they’re being blamed for the comas, so they propose doing the memory trick on Troi

They tried to make snowflakes out of their jackets but it didn’t come out right

In the memory probe, its the father that attacked Troi. Maybe I need a memory probe, I thought it was the other guy

Jev almost gets away with it, but he returned that night and couldn’t resist attacking Troi some more

My favorite part of the episode is when Worf very easily knocks him out.
