[ENT] Regeneration

[ENT] Season 2, Episode 23 (Netflix: S2 E23): Regeneration

Regeneration

Rating: 3

This episode mainly gets a 3 for being entertaining. I thought I would be bothered with however they tried to explain why the Borg are in Enterprise, but I was okay with it. Some people say it creates a lot of problems, but a lot of these problems were created by First Contact, and people just chose not to think about them until now.

I like the paradox it creates.

First Contact: A Borg ship travels back in time to assimilate Earth and ends up crashing in Antarctica.

Regeneration: Humans discover the Borg on Earth and the Borg send out a signal to the Delta Quadrant.

Best Of Both Worlds: The Borg receive the signal and head to Earth (when that attempt fails they are forced to try again, leading back to First Contact).

Q Who?: Q introduces humans to the Borg as a warning because he knew that they were on their way.

I love how they all connect.

It’s been suggested (although the original writers of QWho obviously didn’t intend it) that the message sent to the Borg in this episode alerted them to humans and they were on their way. So if Q Hadn’t introduced the enterprise to the Borg, then they would have swept in unchallenged and assimilated earth…so really he did everybody a favour as they were coming whatever.

Bit more of a leap, but its been noticed that Annika Hansen (7of9) might have been Admiral Hanson from BOBW granddaughter and that the Hansons were sent out to find the Borg from rumours that they existed. (That would have been cool but i dont think the Voyager writers wanted to follow through on it)
