[TOS] A Piece of the Action

[TOS] Season 2, Episode 17 (Netflix: S2 E17): A Piece of the Action

A Piece of the Action

Rating: 2

This episode can be mildly funny, but it’s really repetitive and feels drawn out. It probably could’ve been a half hour episode. Or better yet, it could’ve been a story idea the writers laughed about for a few minutes really late at night and then abandoned. Okay, maybe that’s a little harsh. I guess it can be amusing if you’re in the right kind of mood.

Kirk, Bones, and Spock beam to a planet to investigate if it has been contaminated by a Federation ship 100 years ago. Looks like it. It also looks like this guy holds his gun as if it's trying to fly away

I love how this guy takes off his glasses every time some makes a comment he finds perplexing. He rips them off 3 times in about 3 minutes

Kirk starts talking in the same slang and starts to really get into acting like people on this planet. Not to blend in. Just cause.

Kirk decides to tell all the gangsters some story about how they have to work together or the federation comes after them. He puts a boss in charge of the whole planet. That'll probably work out fine
