This episode is mainly boring. There are also a few scenes that I think taint the Odo character. There’s some back-story added to Odo’s character that mainly consists of meeting his old pal and reiterating things we already knew.

The bajoran scientist that discovered Odo comes to visit. There could be another life-form like Odo so they borrow a runabout and a Dax and check it out.
They bring the life-form back to the station
But then stuff gets broken and the life-form is gone
O’Brien makes that face that he makes sometimes and finds the life-form, which is now dead
Some kind of blob monster goes after Bashir!
The bajoran scientist figures out that the blob monster is really Odo, and Odo isn’t aware of what he’s doing. Something on the planet is affecting him.
The scientist tries to scare Odo into believing that no one will understand why Odo did it, saying they’ll put him into a zoo. Odo gets really scared. I guess this is supposed to show some real depth to his character, but come on. Does he really think Sisko is going to put him in a zoo? To me it just makes Odo seem kind of dumb.
