[TNG] Up The Long Ladder

[TNG] Season 2, Episode 18 (Netflix: S2 E18): Up The Long Ladder

Up The Long Ladder

Rating: 2

This episode has some character moments in the beginning that I like, a bad plot, an okay plot, and then a weird resolution. I guess that makes it a 2.

They also meet a lost colony of clones. This episode doesn't follow a A-plot/b-plot story structure, instead they just tell one story, then the next, then the next, and they eventually tie in. It seems like it would be interesting story telling technique if they did something interesting with it

    So, what about Worf’s measles?
Was it just so he could have a cute tea ceremony scene with Doc Pulaski.
    Oh, well.

And Poor O’Brien. [FYI, you’re missing an “O’Brien in TNG” tag.]
“This is what my people were like.”
[And poor Colm Meaney. Seriously, Star Trek. You had to do the Irish peasant stereotype. *rolls eyes* *laughs*]

And yeah, Klingon booze is too strong for even the Irish.

And I’m pretty sure they got Riker’s DNA anyway.
If ya know what I mean. 😉
And yeah, that only works if you’re Riker (or Jim Kirk). 🙁

And each man gets three wives, each woman gets three husbands.
So that’s how Denobulan culture started.
(I’m guessing they got stuck in some time portal, but it checks out.)

Worf’s measles were on my mind through the entire episode. I kept expecting it be reincorporated but it never was.
