[DS9] The Forsaken

DS9 Season 1, Episode 17 (Netflix: S1 E16): The Forsaken

Rating: 2
Lwaxana Troi makes her first DS9 appearance and shows a side of herself that we don’t normally see. If this interests you then maybe you’ll like this episode. Otherwise it isn’t too much fun to watch.

Bashir is put in charge of some ambassadors because the writers want us to give Bashir another shot

Among the ambassadors is a Bolian and a Vulcan. Thats cool

And one of them is Lwaxana. Pink hair. Here we go

File under: Majel Barrett (Chapel/Lwaxana)

Lwaxana reminds us that Betazoids can’t read Ferengis.

Computer problems!

Odo and Lwaxana are trapped in the turbo elevator. Yup, this is the plot. This is happening

The other plot is about a computer “stray puppy” probe or something. It’s messing everything up

The other other plot is about Bashir pleasing the ambassadors. The A-plot, B-plot, and C-plot are all uninteresting

The best thing about this episode is we learn more about Odo, but it’s all stuff we could pick up on easy enough later if this episode is skipped

Then Odo melts…

…The crew comes up with more puppy analogies…

…And Bashir learns someone’s first name. All is well

All of your DS9 episode reviews are 2. 🙁 I liked this one. The concept of a playful but disruptive AI was interesting. I’m not a fan of Lwaxana but this episode showed she had more than what she was on TNG

Yeah, it’s one of the better Lwaxana episodes for the reasons you said. You’re right, we’ve been giving out a bunch of 2s to DS9, but we really love the show. Don’t worry, there will be plenty of higher ratings to come.

It always makes me giggle that the lady ambassadors name is Tesco – just like the supermarket they have over here in Britain.
